"The Sensing Self" is a community I invite you to build with me through regular movement practice together. Every Sunday I facilitate movement classes at WOLK space where we focus on attention, physicality, awareness and mindbody connection.
Attention
Through challenging motor and cognitive tasks, we’ll improve our focus and reduce distractions. Activities like catching a tennis ball with your knee or switching left and right will train our minds to concentrate and learn.
Physicality
Moving is as nourishing for your body as is food. We will work on a variety of areas, such as strength and elasticity, floorwork, coordination, balance, acrobatics and mobility to give your body different forms of nourishment.
Awareness
How aware are you of your body when balancing on your hands or reacting to an external force? We’ll enhance our sensory perception (sight, touch, balance) and body awareness through various exercises.
Mind-body connection
Through varied challenges, we’ll learn how to consciously adjust our physical and emotional states, build trust in our bodies and minds, and embrace discomfort or failure.

Learning modules


Every 2-3 months we focus on several skills and qualities so that we can get tangible progress (cool moves to show for our work!) and experience them on a deeper level. The focus for December-February are:
  • balancing
  • dynamic strength or ground movement patterns
  • training of the senses
At the end of this period, given you attend the classes consistently, you will be able to freely and skilfully move on the ground, will have increased your strength and endurance, improved your ability to balance and stabilise, enhanced your control and use of your senses when moving. To join the class you need to do two things in either order:
  1. Purchase a class pass (1-class, 4-class, 8-class passes available below)
  2. Reserve your spot for the date you are coming to class by clicking the button below.
